PARADE THEME: “FORTY
& FABULOUS”
The Southington 40th Apple Harvest Festival parade will be held this year on Sunday, September
28, 2008, starting at 2:00 PM. There will be a rain date this year on Sunday, October
5th. Again, last year’s parade was a huge success and the turnout was estimated to be one of the biggest in Festival history. The Festival Parade Committee would like to extend an invitation to your group to participate in this year’s parade.
If your organization/group is interested in attending this year, please complete the application form and return it by fax or mail no later than July 1, 2008. Applications received after July 1st may not be considered for this year’s parade.

Some important things to keep in mind about the parade:
- Because of the length and marching pace of the parade, it may not be suitable for young children to be marching. They should ride on floats, if possible.
- Marchers accompanying floats will not be allowed to line up with their floats in the float staging area. They should line up in their Division designations.
- Floats are judged on how well they symbolize the parade theme.
- In filling out the application, please give accurate information to ensure return mailing and emergency contact in case of rescheduling.
